Interpretations of the James, A Traveling Exhibition
Intrepretations of the James,an exhibition of works by twelve
Virginia artists who have spent much of their careers studying the
environs of Virginia´s Rivers, is traveling through State Art
Centers during 2007.The exhibition is part of the celebration of the
state´s anniversary celebration of the founding of Jamestown.
Curated by Beth Nichols, the work ranges from images of the
headwaters to paintings of the mouth of the river.
Exhibiting artists are Ron Boehmer of Lynchburg, Richard Crozier of
Charlottesville, Durwood Dommise, David Freed, Tom Hale, Frank
Hobbs, Maruta Racenis, and Ephram Rubenstein of Richmond, Ray Kass
of Blacksburg, Frederick Nichols of Barboursville, and Lindsay
Nolting and Tom Tartaglino of Palmyra.
The exhibition was at the Art Center of Orange in March, the
Lynchburg Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg in June, and will travel
to the following locations:
July 31st - September 7th This Century Gallery , Williamsburg
